Anti-Rust
Rust on gates, steel windows, burglar bars and metalwork is a persistent issue in Gardens and the City Bowl. Winter rain, mountain moisture and - for properties near the harbour - some salt air exposure create conditions where unprotected metal corrodes faster than in inland suburbs. Many City Bowl heritage homes have original steel Crittal-style windows that need annual inspection and touch-up. Never paint over rust - remove to clean bare metal, apply zinc-phosphate primer, then hard enamel topcoat. On a five-year cycle strip back and reprime completely. See our Gardens pricing guide.
